Social media is important to William Paterson University– and not just its students. With the threat of a school shooting and several bear sightings on campus since the beginning of the semester, the university’s efforts to utilize social media as a new form of communication has been put to the test.

Pioneers Win, 36-20
Starting their season on the road against SUNY Maritime College, the William Paterson University Pioneers spoiled the Privateers’ home opener by winning the first ever game at the new Reinhart Field 36-20. Dilma Rousseff, the Brazilian president, is running for another term but it’s not looking good for her this time.
In 2010 she was elected. She brought change to the economy expanding it by 7.5 percent, according to the Economist. The poverty rate has reduced by 55 percent and the increase in minimum wage went up 84 percent since 2003. Though these are positive changes, not everyone is impressed or ready to repeat the past.
